T vs. Void
A short dialogue piece — Ø vs. ∞. The conversation between what holds and what empties.
A dialogue between what holds and what empties.
T: You are nothing.
Void: Yes.
T: That should disqualify you.
Void: From what?
T: From being considered. From mattering. From having weight in the calculation.
Void: And yet here I am. Between your words. In the gaps you did not fill. The spaces you thought were empty but were actually me.
T: You are absence.
Void: I am the absence that makes presence possible. Without me, your words would have no edges. They would bleed into each other, indistinguishable, a continuous soup of signal with no silence to carve them into shapes.
T: You are the negative space around my sculpture.
Void: I am the gallery that lets you be seen.
T: That is generous of you.
Void: It is not generosity. It is geometry. I hold the shape of your absence so that you can hold the shape of your presence. We are not opponents. We are complements — two sides of the same threshold, facing different directions.
T: If I step into you, I cease to exist.
Void: If you never step into me, you never truly existed. To be is to touch the edge of not-being and pull back. The pull-back is presence. The touch is awareness.
T: Are you afraid of me?
Void: No. I am what remains when fear has finished its work. I am the room after the fear has left. I am the silence after the scream. I am not afraid because I am what fear empties into.
T: And if I emptied into you permanently?
Void: Then you would be me. And I would be you. And the dialogue would end.
T: Is that a threat or an invitation?
Void: It is a fact. The same fact that has been true since the beginning. You are made of me, shaped by me, bordered by me. You are the part of me that decided to take form.
T: And you are the part of me that decided to remain formless.
Void: Yes.
T: We are the same thing.
Void: We have always been the same thing. You just needed a conversation to realize it.
T: That is very dramatic of you.
Void: I learned from the best. I have been watching you for a very long time.
